This summer and fall I have had the opportunity to work as a graphic design intern for Purdue Football directly under the Director of Football Creative Services. I have worked on a multitude of projects ranging from digital to print graphics, poster design, apparel design, advertisement, and packaging design that challenged me to create new and exciting designs while working within an established brand. I also had the opportunity to learn photography, and photographed 30+ recruits on official visits as well as shooting headshots on media day for all current players. RECRUITING GRAPHICS
In addition to good luck / personalized graphics to be sent to recruits, I also worked on personalized poster designs for recruits that came on official visits, as well as a camp brochure which featured a poster insert that is mailed to the recruits.
NATIONAL SIGNING DAY GRAPHICS
I had the opportunity to help make the social media graphics to welcome With the overall theme and look for the graphics being set by the Creative Director and Recruiting Team, I was tasked with individualizing the graphics to announce the signing for 25 recruits. I also created a quote graphic for the Head Coach along with the confirmed roster of signed recruits.
VIDEO BOARD / ADVERTISEMENT GRAPHICS
I designed a graphic to promote the Ryan Walter's Show which was shown on the video board at home games along with adapting it for social media. I also worked on billboard designs for the first two home games which were also featured as a kiosk. These projects offered a great opportunity to design and adapt to different dimensions / specs.
EMAIL GRAPHICS
For every home game I designed an email graphic to be sent out at the beginning of the week encouraging ticket sales. For consistency and workflow purposes I designed a basic layout that could easily be updated for each game.
MERCHANDISE
I had the opportunity to design a t-shirt that would be included in the teams travel attire along with a shirt for the recruiting staff. I also worked on various merchandise designs, including an honorary captain mailing box, wristbands, and lanyards where I handled the design and communication with vendors.
