As an avid movie lover I had a blast with this project which required me to create a make-believe film and design a surrealist style movie poster promoting it. I was inspired by simplistic movie posters and wanted my graphic to be the main focal point to draw the viewers eye. I utilize positive and negative space within my graphic to create silhouettes of crows in the blood splatter. The title "When the Third Crow Comes" references the idea that a group of three or more crows is called a murder.
I liked the idea of playing with positive and negative space to suggest images. Within the blood splatters I hide three crows to connect to the films title. This design required a lot of trial and error in order to find a composition where the bird silhouettes seamlessly blended with the actors faces.
VR INTERACTION
I had the opportunity to experiment with Adobe Aero for this project to create an interactive component where viewers can make the poster come to life with their phone. As this is a darker movie in concept, I designed this component to eerily flash between designs and have a message revealed that compliments the title.
